Aunty B and The Battle With The WANGSTER

I've been feeling ill and in a good bit of pain lately. In fact, quite a lot of pain. Long story short--a kidney infection so bad it requires TWO antibiotics. Since I can't see Dr K after work I had to get in line at 7:45 am and wait for the doors to open for a chance to get in early. And Dr. Wang the Incompetent was there. The one who told me "you have a pulled muscle" when I had THREE kidney stones last year.

He gave me attitude. His nurse was a CUNT, not a description I use often. I had to DEMAND certain tests be run. He tried to rush me out. I raised hell and demanded he run the goddamn test. BINGO. Second strain of bactiera found.

Fortunately--there is a very fine doctor right down the street from my office. It is open until 8pm--I get off at 6:30--seven days a week---and he is on the list for our HMO. I will see them Monday and discuss transfering my care to Dr. Gibbs instead---one of my friends goes there and loves him. Dr K has been my doctor for five years--I trust her, and she's wonderful--but if I can't be under her care...they can shove Dr. Wang's wang up his wingwang.

I agree. Part of health is comfort and understanding and trust and the WangKer in question is not giving it.

If you don't fight for your medical rights....who will??

My point exactly. Further to that. This is not the first time you have had this condition. Medical history should make clear you know your body's reactions and that should be taken into account. You are the one in the body and you rather than statistics should be able to guide them towards your own cure so to speak.

Craptastic bedside manner.

There's something incredibly wrong when the patient is a better diagnostician than the doctor. Good lord.

Oy vey - I'm sorry about the kidney stones - yikes 0_0 I have not had them myself, but I know a lot of people who have.

These days, I'm convinvced that hospitals are run by corporate money grabbers called bureaucrats. I don't know what that says about me, but let's just say I've had my share of hospital woes. I'm glad your female doctor is good and willing to help though - goes to show that there are good people in this world :)

I had a massive Struvite stone (a stone filled with bacteria) about the size of my thumbnail that was blasted with shockwaves--it made tones of LITTLE stones--jagged little stones--and they aren't all gone. I will so miss my female doctor, but if I can't see here there's no damn point in going to the practice. His last missed diagnosis landed me in a CAT scan at 3am in agony...he refused to believe in the three large stones that had log-jammed above the bladder and were blocking off my right kidney. I wouldn't trust him in a game of Operation much less putting a bandaid on a dog's ass...
