THANK YOU--those prayers and loving thoughts must be helpin

Loved ones--
Okay, it's 8:05 est--and right now there is pressure on the left side of my head but the insane vertigo seems to have eased off for now. I had a bad bout around 11pm--again, flipped over in bed and then my bed started doing sommersaults. I kept my eyes shut, tried to relax and just hung in and waited for it to clear off. I also kept alternating warm and cold compresses to the left side of my head all night.

My supervisor told me to go ahead and call in today, which I did. I had a bowl of ochazuke  soup for breakfast--that's a Japanese comfort food of leftover rice, green tea, nori seaweed, and tiny savory cracker bits--salty and warm and strangely satisfying on an upset tummy--classic in Japan for hangovers.  Whenever I find it in an Asian market I tend to buy up handfuls of those little striped packets.--just ask dear [livejournal.com profile] teapriestess .

I am going to go very, very slowly today. I'll rest, take my medicine and warm baths every few hours to keep my muscles relaxed. If anything gets worse I will call Dr K IMMEDIATELY.
I've also told my boss that I will take these days as unpaid leave. Ouch. But I have very few days of sick leave per year and it they are done they must either be unpaid or I have to give up scheduled vacation days--that could affect my ability to go to AWA or Confluence.

So---I'm going to rest now Thank you all so very, very much for the energy.
::hugs::

Good news! well resting and taking medicines will do! I know a bit about that kind of "vertigo" sensations as I suffer form motion sickness and my bad sight doesn't help either.

good decision about work, he will not have a chance to fire you if he is so narrow-minded.

keep the communication witht the doctor and tell him/her everything, even those tiny things you don't think are important!

Take care and more loving thoughts to you!

Thanks--love the Icon!
And yes, they can still terminate me--Georgia is an "At Will" state and he's just my supervisor--but I've gone thru all the channels and jumped through the appropriate hoops...all I can do is hope for the best.

Glad to hear it! Sounds like ochazuke is just the right thing. Be kind to yourself! *hugs*

I swear, when I feel like crap there are three things I can always tolerate: ramen, ochazuke and a Mcdonald's small hamburger. the Japanese eat ochazuke for hangovers and there's just something about this stuff...I buy the packets that you can get at many Asian stores and online--Nagatanien is the best brand and ochazuke nori is the best flavor. It comes in a strip of small packets striped in green, yellow black and red. If you ever see it you need to taste it-it's cheap, delicious and always settles your tummy!

I spotted some Horny Goat Weed when I was up in SLC. Don't suppose that would have helped? ;-)

Rest well. *hugs*

Horny Goat Weed---Essence of Mustang, you mean?? Well, they say it DOES help migraines. BTW, you might appreciate this--a very late birthday present is coming --if you'll excuse the pun. An artisan glass...sculptured amusement...the sort of which you would appreciate. There's a company here in Georgia that touts the benefit of such said...sculptures...it is quite a thing of beauty...and will be a joy forever...and it also does not require BATTERIES which is quite nice for the environment. Hopefully it will PREVENT future migraines!

Sweet sister thank you...this has been such a shock. My first thought was that it was some sort of stroke but by the symptoms they have ruled that out, so far. And as you were typing this I was sitting in the dark with a candle (fan turned off so it wouldn't flicker and make it worse) asking Mom for help. Right now the world is not spinning and there's only a dullness on the left side of my head--not quite pain but not quite gone. Right now they are hiring new people for our team and mysteriously Kimmy was walked off the floor and gone the other day. Every time I have been out I have followed protocol and provided proof of medical treatment--not that this matters. Losing my job would be the end of everything. God knows I give it 110% but this was something I had no control over--if you are seeing triple, have no balance, and projectile vomiting you can't very well do tech support.
BTW--I tried to call you several times and the calls weren't going through to your home. I wanted to thank you for the precious pics of Lil Bear--he's so handsome!
I also wanted to give you some love and support and just be there to LISTEN to you in all this stress you are under. You and the family are never far from my thoughts. I love you, sweet sister....you are a blessing to the world.

My eyes are still sort of out of focus but the medications have worked very well. No real idea what the hell brought it on but am relieved it seems to be manageable right now. Thanks, dear ::hugs::
