The Heat Index today was 115 in the shade:
So--A/C at work is deader than Elvis. Ice machine overheats and dies. All the vending machines overheat and DIE. They bring us popcicles---they melt before we can eat them....it's so hot that people are puking from it. Somebody brings an ice chest and I shove cubes down my bra just to survive eight hours of the inferno.

I come home...disgusting and queasy...but my ROOMIE, goddess love her, has a pint of Pralines and Cream in the freezer--all for me (she got chocolate mint for herself) I've had about a quarter of that pint--now I'm heading for a soak in a cool tub to get my core temp down and then I'll have cold grilled chicken for supper....

I'm begining to believe that "we've got the A/C fixed is the FOURTH great lie, along with "Check's in the mail". "I swear I love you," and "I promise I won't...." etc....

That sucks. I can not stand heat & humidity. I feel sorry for you having to sit in it all day. :( I am surprised they did not send people home early.

Oh no...they don't care if we puke in the wastebaskets--nobody leave. Ever. That's why I decided 'fuck it!' and stuffed my bra full of ice wrapped in wet paper towels. I was soaked but at least I didn't pass out. I'm bringing frozen freezer packs tomorrow and a big ass mug of ice water...and a cold sandwich! Eating a hot lunch only made it worse.
