New Lappie on the Way! Waiting for the TARDIS to arrive...

And it's about damn time. My tax return came in--and I used a part of it--okay, about half--to replace what I need to replace. My dear old banger, my Dell Inspiron, is 8 years old, has a 1 gig hard drive and not enough ram to run WinXP SP2. It has USB 1.0. I tried to upgrade it  to SP2 and it died. I'm going to strip it and run Linux Mint on it (just got it today from a friend)

The new baby is an Acer Aspire with Win7Premium Home edition, 4gigs of RAM, 320Gig hard drive, a 15.6" screen--it was a Referb with a warranty and no other frills--but it was 400.00. And since I name all my machines and this is an ACEr...Ace was a companion of the Doctor--so the new baby will be The Tardis. Because with that much ram in that slender case it really IS bigger on the inside than on the outside!
