Meepers is back from the vet and I have the scars to prove it :grins::
Diagnosis: Deep bacterial infection in both ears compounded by ear mites
Treatment: antibiotic shot, single-dose treatment for the mites plus drops twice a day for a (fun-filled) week
Also got her rabies and feluke vaccines
I have a very pissed off kitty in the bathroom with food and water--she wasn't eating because she was so dizzy from the inner ear infections that jumping up to get her dinner was impossible. I've got her extra food and water in my office on ground level.
I will say that Dr. W was impressed with the way I handled my girl--"How long since you were a vet tech? Well, you sure haven't lost your touch!" I only got scratched hauling her out from under the recliner.
Here's our patient...looking almost angelic... Cat...you're gonna give your mama grey hairs one day....

Ohh, is she giving me pure hell for this, loudly informing any and all of her visitors that I am an abusive parent who puts nasty shit in her ears and let a Strange Man In A White Coat poke her with three needles.As I write this she is stapled to my shoulder with ten little needle-sharp claws and acting seriously offended that she wasn't given an entire jar of fishies as compensation for all the jabs and the ear swabs and the icky goo in the ears twice a day...but she's livelier, happier, no longer hiding and once again behaving like Queen Victoria In A Fur Coat....
