Vet Smackdown! Dr. Walker 1, Meep 0

Meepers is back from the vet and I have the scars to prove it :grins::
Diagnosis: Deep bacterial infection in both ears compounded by ear mites
Treatment: antibiotic shot, single-dose treatment for the mites plus drops twice a day for a (fun-filled) week
Also got her rabies and feluke vaccines
I have a very pissed off kitty in the bathroom with food and water--she wasn't eating because she was so dizzy from the inner ear infections that jumping up to get her dinner was impossible. I've got her extra food and water in my office on ground level.
I will say that Dr. W was impressed with the way I handled my girl--"How long since you were a vet tech? Well, you sure haven't lost your touch!" I only got scratched hauling her out from under the recliner.
Here's our patient...looking almost angelic... Cat...you're gonna give your mama grey hairs one day....

And you have it even worse with a bird--birdies are terrible about concealing any problems until it becomes a SERIOUS problem--plus getting hooked up with a good avian vet is a hassle in some cities...but the little shits are so worth it. I adore parrots but at my age I would hesitate buying a pet that's gonna outlive me. I had a close friend with an African Grey who was just fabulous and brilliant and very damned sarcastic to boot. Smarter than my second husband....and better company...
